"BICSI is an organization comprised of professionals from the Telecommunications industry. They conduct training for low-voltage cabling distribution design and installation and are non-profit. I find it interesting that they began basically as a series of informal brainstorming sessions between fellow industry pros and blossomed into the organization they are today."

    "They give you the latests updates on cabling standards.The updates are quarterly and they are from the TIA meetings. This is good site for the installer cause has questions and answers regarding telecommunication/standard issues."

    " TIA (Telecommunications Industry Association) is an organization of diverse telecom companies. They are involved directly with setting the standards for telecom systems and offer various marketing services for telecommunications including User Premises Equipment, Network Equipment, Wireless Communications, Fiber Optics, and Satellite Communications. They also strive for the bettering of humanity thru improved communications, economic growth, and furthering its member's business opportunities by creating or supplying a competitive and innovative market. They have an announcement from Aug. 20, 2001 that I found interesting. Since the organization is global and telecommunications are as well, they are looking to establish a more global standards premise. For the novice, they have a cool resource section on the website."
